Shura Members: SCTA s efforts in developing Al Ula heritage and tourist sites are distinguished and deliberate

Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – A number of Majlis Alsh-Shura members, including the current and former members, have expressed their deep appreciation for the efforts of SCTA in the rehabilitation and preservation of heritage and archeological sites in the Al Ula municipality.

In a letter addressed to  Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, after visiting the Al Ula site recently, they emphasized that the efforts of SCTA on the ground are distinguished, deliberate and of high quality over heritage and archeological sites across the Al Ula municipality, whether in preservation or excavation of antiquities and making them ready to receive tourists or meeting the requirements of archeology researchers.

They also hoped that, SCTA will be provided with necessary support to market these sites nationally and internationally, and to step up cooperation efforts with the tourism activation committees across the provinces and municipalities of the Kingdom in order to encourage citizens, especially students, intellectuals and thinkers to recognize the great cultural treasures in the Kingdom which emphasizes the country’s deep rooted civilization and history.

The tour of Alsh-Shura members in Al Ula included a visit to the Madain Saleh site, visit to Al-Ula Museum and Heritage Village and to Dadan archaeological site.

Noteworthy, the present tour group includes both current and former members of Majlis Alsh-Shura. A group of 40 members would traditionally go on a tour program to spend three days in a desert area annually in any one of the provinces of the Kingdom. This has been a practice for the past 15 years.
