Abdel Aziz Fadel: regularity of trips and access to all airports Egypt without canceling
Almasalla Travel News – Abdel-Aziz Fadel, Minister of Civil Aviation confirmed steady operation of both departure and arrival flights at Cairo International Airport and Egyptian airports without canceling any flights. 233 departure/arrival flights carrying 21 thousand passengers were conducted from 12:00am till 12:00pm of Thursday, August 15, where Cairo International airport operated 179 flights carrying 14 thousand passengers; while other Egyptian airports(Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Borg El Arab, Luxor, Sohag, Assiut) conducted54 departure/arrival flights carrying 7,000 passengers
His Excellency Confirmed that hospitality beverages and meals were offered for arriving passengers not being able to reach their homes during the hours of the curfew. He also added that proper coordination had been made with concernedentities to allow passengersto move during the hours of the curfew, provided that the passenger will show to the checkpoints his passport and air ticket indicating his departure or arrival flight.
TheMinister announced also that the Egyptian airspace is open for regular air traffic and none of the foreign communities requested to leave the country.Fadel praised the efforts of civil aviation staff and all devices operating at Cairo International Airport and other Egyptian airports and their eagerness to keep the regularity of air traffic and continue serving passengers.
He pointed out that the National air carrier“EgyptAir” will allow passengers on after 09:00 o’clock evening flights to commence check-in procedures starting from five o’clock in the evening before curfew time. He also gave his directives to exempt passengers from demurrage or any fees in case of delays due to traffic conditions.
