Miss Seychelles Agnes Gerry in first charity function

Almasalla Travel News – Ashraf El gedawy – The newly- crowned Miss Seychelles…Another World, Agnes Gerry, last Friday met with a group of nine children who suffer from hearing impairment from the School of the Exceptional Child, in what was seen as her first charity function of her one-year reign, during which she will also be the islands’ ambassador at tourism trade fairs abroad and at important local events.

The gathering took place at the Val-de-Pres Restaurant’s “Bilembi Garden" and Agnes Gerry was accompanied by 1st Princess Ishah Hoareau and 2nd Princess Lindy Barallon. They were all introduced by Audrey Roberts, Senior Coordinator of the Events Department at the Seychelles Tourism Board.

The three pageant winners chatted with the five boys and four girls through “sign language" by interpreter Shana David.

Some of the children, especially the girls, took turns having their photographs taken wearing one of the crowns borrowed from Miss Seychelles or her two Princesses.

After refreshments and snacks, they also played together on a bouncing castle and face painting.

On Thursday evening, Agnes Gerry and the two runners-up were guests onboard the French naval vessel “La Somme," where they were welcomed by the French Ambassador, Mrs. Genevieve Iancu, and Commandant Jean-Michel Martinet of the French navy.
