aTP-  Arab tourism portal-  Oman Air is reaffirming its commitment to Omanization through its continuing recruitment of local cabin crew as it announces open days from April 7 and 21, between 8 am and 4 pm, at the Muscat Golden Tulip.

Omanization is the sultanate’s policy of providing employment and career development opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced Omani people, thereby developing a sustainable, highly skilled workforce and strengthening the national economy.

Oman Air’s cabin crew recruitment within the sultanate has seen it hold a number of open days, at which young Omani men and women have been offered the opportunity to join Oman Air and play a pivotal role in the award-winning airline’s development and success.

Commenting on Oman Air’s intensive efforts to seek the best candidates for its cabin crew teams, Dr. Rashid Al Ghailani, executive vice president, Human Resources, at Oman Air said: “As Oman Air continues its fleet and network expansion program, we are seeking to increase the capacity and capability of our human resources by recruiting capable young people from Oman who display the necessary potential.

Omanis form the backbone of our operations and we take pride in selecting those with the greatest talents to join our teams.  “Since its inception, Oman Air has been known for its deployment of Omanis throughout our company.

This is especially the case with our cabin crew, who are the forefront of our operations in the air. They are international ambassadors for Oman and we therefore strive to ensure that their training reflects our unmatched traditions of onboard hospitality and comfort.“Of the 1,531 cabin crew and senior flight supervisors we currently employ, 573 are Oman.

Of this number 441 are cabin crew and 132 are senior flight supervisors.“Furthermore, the company has taken steps to improve the rate of Omanization by aiming for a team that comprises 50 per cent male staff and 50 per cent female staff.

However, we recognize that recruitment of Omani women is challenging due to a range of social and cultural factors.

Despite these challenges, we are confident of achieving our aim of increasing the number of Omani women we employ as cabin crew.”
