The screenings will take place at the Cairo Opera House, as well as downtown Cairo’s Odeaon Cinema and Cinema Karim.

For the first time, this year’s edition will introduce an app for phones and tablets that will offer the schedule of events, information about featured films, screening times, and booking.

International actors who have been awarded by the festival include Christopher Lee, Morgan Freeman, Salma Hayek, Richard Gere, Charlize Theron, Gina Lollobrigida and Sophia Loren.
