Air Arabia wins World Travel Leaders Award in London
aTP- Arab tourism portal- Air Arabia was awarded the “World Travel Leaders Award” at London’s World Travel Market 2015 in recognition of its leadership of the low-cost aviation sector in the Middle East.
In bestowing the award, the organizers noted Air Arabia’s significant expansion over the past 12 months, including increasing its route network to more than 115 destinations, opening a fifth international hub in Amman, Jordan, and becoming the region’s first low-cost carrier (LCC) to launch direct services to China. Air Arabia’s profitability, ongoing support of the region’s tourism sector, and ability to create skilled jobs were also commended.
Adel A. Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, said: “While 2015 has been a year of major expansion for Air Arabia, we have never lost sight of our core business model and LCC principles. Our mission remains to help people to fly more, and we are delighted that this work continues to be recognized by the global aviation industry.”
World Travel Market London brings together more than 50,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international media to discuss the key issues and trends affecting the industry.
These are the latest in a series of accolades won by Air Arabia this year. The company was named “Best Low-cost Airline in the Middle East” at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards in France; “Best Low-Cost Carrier” at the 2015 World Tourism Forum Awards in Turkey; took home the “Award for Customer Innovation” at the first Aviation Achievement Awards; and won two of the top prizes at the Aviation Business Awards 2015, being named “Low Cost Airline of the Year” and “Airline of the Year – Middle East.”
