The all night traditional dance closed Festival Kreol at 6am when Minister Alain St.Ange،  the Seychelles for Tourism & Culture addressed revellers

 

 

 

 

ATP-  Arab tourism portal- The traditional Kreol Bal (Dance) at the Creole Institute on Saturday the 31st October was the last event on this year s Festival Kreol in Seychelles.

 


This much loved event that starts at 8pm on Saturday evening closes at 6am on Sunday morning when, as per tradition, the Minister responsible for Culture addresses the revellers and declares the Festival closed.

 

This year was no exception. The Grand Kas (Big House) of the Creole Institute was full to capacity and the traditional band playing did not disappoint them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 Those who are faithful supporters of the event were all present as well as a number of tourists this year accompanying friends they had made in hotels.

 

Also present were Minister Alain St.Ange, the Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture, Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism, Penda Choppy, the CEO of the Creole Institute, Antoine Onezime, the CEO of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation and Members of the Festival Kreol s Organising Committee.

 

 

 

 

 

 


This traditional night of fun went fast as everyone danced all the traditional dances of Seychelles.

 

The main lounge of the Creole Institute was so full that revellers also used the large verandah of the building for the dancing. It was seen by all as a great night of fun that showcased the island s culture and the joie de vivre of the Seychellois.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just before six in the morning, as the night sky was giving way to a rising sun the band played the last song and Minister St.Ange was invited to make his closing speech to close the 2015 Festival Kreol.

 


"Firstly let me congratulations to all of you for being here. You danced all night and you are here to witness the official closing of the festival for this year. You are all just great.

 


On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Creole Institute and on behalf of Seychelles we say thank you to you for not only saying you are Creole but continue year after year to be seen as one and to be counted as one. Thank you to Penda Choppy and her Team at the Creole Institute for again this year staging a fantastic event that closes our annual festival.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


PS Benjamine Rose and CEO Penda Choppy who are both still here as well koi me to say how proud we all are when we see the expressions of fun and joy by everyone and this right through to now as the church bells are ringing to tell us that it is now six in the morning.

 


Our Festival Kreol will get bigger as was requested by President Michel at the opening ceremony of the festival and next year we shall all be together again to show to the world that we are all proud to be Creoles from the beautiful Seychelles. It is now my duty to declare Festival Kreol 2015 closed" said Minister Alain St.Ange to loud applause from the large crowd present.     

 


This event closed this year s festivities that saw the participation of Mauritius, Reunion, Rodrigues and Haiti all islands that share Creole as a language and culture.
