A true taste of India in Seychelles through the four-day fun and food fair
ATP- Arab tourism portal- Members of the Seychellois public joined visitors to the islands now that they have the chance to taste a variety of authentic Indian dishes and experience India in the fun and food fair in Victoria until October 5.
This fair which was officially opened last Friday is part of the Seychelles-India Day celebrations for this year.
The official opening of the fair was held a few hours prior to the launch of the five-day event.
Attending the opening of the fair was the Designated Minister Vincent Meriton, Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, Ramu Pillay, the Chairman of the Seychelles-India Day Celebrations Committee, H.E. Sanjay Panda, the Indian High Commissioner in Seychelles, members of the Seychelles-India Day Celebrations committee and of the Indian Association, and other guests.
Minister St.Ange said the Seychelles-India Day Celebrations event was just a dream once but it has now become an event which marks our culture in our island’s tourism industry.
"Today this event has become a success and an annual cultural event which our people look forward to" Minister St.Ange added.
During the opening ceremony, those who took part in a photography competition which was organised as part of the 2015 Seychelles-India Day celebrations were rewarded.
Apart from the many food stalls, there are others selling clothes, jewellery, crafts and other items.
Indian artists are also performing since yesterday at the fair along with an Indian navy band that is in Port Victoria This year Seychelles is celebrating its 3rd edition of their annual Seychelles-india Day Celebrations.
