QATAR AIRWAYS USES IFTM TOP RESA OF PARIS TO PROMOTE NEW FLIGHTS TO SEYCHELLES
aTP- Arab tourism portal News- New airline connections equals new opportunities for Seychelles. Qatar Airways is an airline that has announce that effecting mid December this year they will be launching seven weekly flights to the Seychelles from Doha.
At the IFTM Top Resa Tourism Trade Fair in Paris this week Qatar Airways used their display pop-up banners at the entrance walk ways to the fair and also at their stand to showcase Seychelles as the new destination they will be opening daily flights to.
"Seychelles is dependant on tourism for their survival. They have done all the right things in the area of protection of their environment and in the construction of a good hotel infrastructure, but air access to main tourism source markets has always been the point raised by the island’s private sector trade. By the end of this year we shall be having 11 new weekly flights over and above what we have already.
This is music to the ears of every tourism related businesses of the Seychelles" said Minister Alain St.Ange, the island’s Minister of Tourism and Culture when he was in Paris earlier this week.
Sherin Francis, the CEO of the Tourism Board of Seychelles and Bernadette Willemin, the Seychelles Tourism Board’s Paris based Director for Europe both met with Qatar Airways (See photo) as they discussed the way forward for Seychelles tourism.
