Seychelles welcomes a new Seychellois lawyer
ATP- arab tourism portal-The Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Mr D. Karunakaran this morning received Michelle Antoinette St.Ange at the Palais De Justice for her swearing-in ceremony as a new Seychellois Lawyer.
In the presence of her parents Alain and Ginette St.Ange, Ameer Ebrahim and her work colleagues, Michelle St.Ange took a first Oath of Allegiance to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Republic and President of Seychelles and to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of Seychelles as by law established. She then proceeded to take the Official Oath as Assistant State Counsel in the office of the Attorney General.
His Lordship Mr D. Karunakaran, the Acting Chief Justice of Seychelles said as he welcomed Michelle St.Ange that he congratulate her for becoming part of the most nobel of professions. "It was a proud moment for me and for our family" Alain St.Ange, Michelle’s father who is also the Minister for Tourism and Culture said.
Michelle St.Ange graduated with Honors in a Bachelor of Laws in 2014, and also has a Bachelor of Psychological Science under her belt. She studied in Australia, where she also undertook volunteer work for the Innocence Project, an organization where lawyers, academics and law students work together to free innocent persons who have been wrongly convicted. She was bestowed with two awards for academic excellence during her time at university, placing her in the top 5% of students across all campuses of the University.
Michelle has started work at the Attorney-General’s Chambers in the Department of Legal Affairs. We wish her well in her career.
