Vanilla Islands – Mauritius running ahead with announcements of new direct flights
ATP- arab tourism portal- Xavier – Luc Duval, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius has used ITB 2015 to announce that Austrian Airlines and the German Carrier Lufthansa would be starting direct non-stop flights to Mauritius this year.
This announcement follows months of work by the Civil Aviation of Mauritius who have been eager to attract new airlines to its newly opened International Airport. Mauritius is today also welcoming two Emirates A380 every day at its Plaisance Airport.
This announcement by Mr Duval will be a boost to the Mauritius tourism industry and they will consolidate themselves on another two of their key tourism source markets.
Mauritius has been enjoying the advantage of having Air Mauritius flying direct non-stop flights to many of their tourism source markets and they have been working hard to continue attracting as many direct non-stop flights as they can as this is seen as the way forward for the consolidation of their tourism industry.
