Seychelles tourism ministry continues to develop personalised ties with visiting cruise ships

 
Almasalla, ATP News- The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange continues to discuss possibilities for the country to develop closer partnership with the luxury cruise liners and last week he called on the Captain of Costa neoClassica as it docked in Port Victoria.

Minister St.Ange was speaking to the ship’s captain Philippe Fichet Delavault last week during a courtesy call while Costa neoClassica was in Port Victoria.

Costa neo Classica graced the waves of the Seychelles’ ocean and docked at Port Victoria, giving its passengers time to get a glimpse at the beauty of the islands.

With the aim of consolidating cruise tourism, Minister St.Ange said cruise liners are vital in the efforts of boosting our tourism industry.

Minister St.Ange was accompanied by the principal secretaries for tourism Anne Lafortune and that of culture department Benjamine Rose and the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken.

They were all joined by the deputy chief executive of the Seychelles Ports Authority Garry Albert.

Captain Delavault spoke about the neo concept that Costa Cruises has launched, which responds to the request and specificities of the French market.

Steering away from the ‘big floating holiday village’, this new concept is more into boats of smaller capacity, longer cruises, and stops at ports which give the passengers more time for exploration and excursions.

The captain added that this concept enriches the passengers experience on board a Costa cruise liner, and strengthens bonds between destinations where the ships make Port calls.

Minister St.Ange discussed on ways to develop a Costa-Seychelles cooperation, and give the passengers a deeper taste of the Seychelles experience.

The possibilities of what Seychelles and the other Vanilla Islands members can offer as experience to the Costa Cruises passengers were much welcomed by the captain.
