Next Hot Model UK photo-shoot in Seychelles recorded as another raving success

Almasalla,GAT News- The two winners from the Next Hot Model UK – 2014 were in Seychelles recently for their professional photo-shoot.

Aspiring models Daisy Boots and Robert Loydell had their entire portfolio shot around the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and Silhouette. It is with this portfolio that they will now officially venture on the catwalk and enter the glossy world of high fashion.

Over the course of six days, the two models, accompanied by a professional photographer, hair and make-up stylist and shoot coordinator, toured the islands and took pictures at some of the most picturesque places in Seychelles.

These included on beaches, at historical sites, different hotels they stayed at and around Victoria.

The shoot coordinator, Simon D’Arcy Abbott, has described the shoot as another big success, saying Seychelles is indeed one of the most beautiful places on the planet and the picturesque landscapes and backgrounds presented amazing locations for shooting.

He added that he was amazed once again by the warmth of the people who they have come across or worked with.

“There’s a simplicity and tranquillity about the islands which makes it perfect and ideal for such projects,” he said.It is to be noted that this is the second year running that the winners of the competition head to Seychelles for their photo-shoot and the organisers have again thanked the Seychelles Tourism Board for supporting them in making this happen.

Mr Abbott said they would now like to give back to Seychelles for the wonderful times they have spent there and for according them the hospitality.

During their visit in Seychelles, the group also paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange and Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Ms Sherin Naiken, to formally thank them for supporting the photo-shoot for two years and also to look at ways on how they can help in increasing the visibility of Seychelles on the UK market.

Right after the first photo-shoot in Seychelles last year, Mr Abott created a Facebook page to support the destination in pushing the Affordable Seychelles campaign. He uses the page to recount his experiences of the Seychelles and posts pictures of the places he had visited.

He now wants to bring his contribution to a next level and makes more use of social media to promote the islands.

CEO Naiken has on her part thanked the Next Hot Model organising team for choosing Seychelles for the photo-shoot as this will generate coverage for the islands in lifestyle and fashion magazines in UK.

“It is a pleasure for us to work with Next Hot Model again and we look forward to benefit from the visibility that would come with it.”

The final of the competition was held in June in Brighton where Daisy and Robert were chosen ahead of 22 other finalists. A delegation from the Seychelles Tourism Board, led by Ms Naiken – who was invited as a guest judge – also attended the event

The competition had covered eight major towns and cities in the South of UK; from Portsmouth to Brighton and up to Crawley, in a bid to find aspiring and unsigned models who dream of launching modelling careers.

The founder and creator of the competition, Fatosh Kalan, had said Next Hot Model UK is a unique concept where they look for a ‘hot girl and guy’ who are looking to break into a modelling career.

She added that the prospect of having a photo-shoot in a destination like Seychelles was an opportunity of a life-time for the aspiring models.
