Almasalla,Gate Arab Tourism News-Working in the hotel industry for more than two decades is not an easy task, but it is one which requires determination and perseverance, and Lorna Carosin-Awale has achieved this feat and was congratulated on her achievement by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture.

Having clocked 40 years in the tourism industry this year, Mrs Carosin-Awale says that she still has the energy to contribute towards the success of the Domaine de La Reserve hotel on Praslin, where she has been working for the past 14 months.

As a sign of gratitude and appreciation for her hard work and valued services to the industry during those four decades, Mrs Carosin-Awale was awarded with a certificate of recognition, signed by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange and principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune
She met Minister St.Ange recently where he presented her with the certificate at the ministry’s offices at the ESPACE building.

Minister St.Ange congratulated the awardee for her hard work and for the great contribution towards tourism in Seychelles, the industry that remains country’s main pillar of its economy.

“As we encourage Mrs Carosin-Awale for having served 40 long years in the hotel industry, we encourage more people to join the tourism trade sector and contribute towards its continued success for the years to come” the Minister said.

She then worked at the Beau Vallon Bay hotel, a tourism establishment which was part of the then Seychelles Hotels Group.

Mrs Carosin-Awale moved to Fisherman’s Cove hotel where she dedicated 16 years of service, starting in 1986 to 2002.

Her passion for the hotel industry led her to another country, in Malawi where Mrs Carosin-Awale shared her expertise and knowledge before moving back to Seychelles, where she worked at the Denis Island resort.

She has worked in many departments such as front office and rooms division, and has also served the posts of sales manager in charge of central reservations and assistant resident manager.
