Middle East and Africa Hotel Development Pipeline For June 2014 Increases to 614 Hotels
Among the countries in the region, the United Arab Emirates (17,137 rooms) and Saudi Arabia (15,415 rooms) reported the most rooms under construction.
Almasalla,Gate Arab Tourism News- The Middle East/Africa hotel region reported 614 hotels Under Contract totalling 143,870 rooms, according to the June 2014 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report. The Under Contract data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Unconfirmed stage.
Among the countries in the region, the United Arab Emirates (17,137 rooms) and Saudi Arabia (15,415 rooms) reported the most rooms under construction. Six other countries reported more than 2,000 rooms under construction: Qatar (5,985 rooms); Jordan (3,241 rooms); Morocco (2,466 rooms); Egypt (2,379 rooms); Algeria (2,166 rooms); and Iraq (2,082 rooms).
