SEYCHELLES TOURISM BOARD ACCOMPANIED BY THE ISLAND S TOURISM MINISTER TO CONDUCT A TOURISM ROADSHOW IN NEW DELHI AND MUMBAI
 

Almasalla,Gate Arab Tourism News-The Seychelles Tourism Board is set to conduct its first ever roadshow in India to educate the Indian travel trade community about Seychelles as a tourism destination for Indian Holiday Makers.  
 

This coming roadshow is set to also facilitate interaction between the Seychelles’ private sector and the Indian travel agents. The Seychelles Delegation that will be led by the Minister of Tourism and Culture Mr. Alain St.Ange will also include Ms Sherin Naiken,  the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and her Director of Marketing – Mrs. Rose-Marie Hoareau.
 

 They will be joined by Destination Management Companies, hotels, the business community and the National Cultural Troupe from Seychelles. The roadshow will be held at Le Méridien in New Delhi on 4th August and at The Trident, in Mumbai on 6th August. A delegation of the island’s business community with links to India is also set to travel to India with Minister St.Ange and his delegation.

 

The tourism board’s India office opened last year and since then has seen a positive response from the travel trade community and an increase in the number of Indians travelling to Seychelles. Commenting on his trip to India, Minister Alain St.Ange said “We are now ready to work to claim our fair share of the very important Indian market.
 

The roadshow is just a start. Our local business partners are ready to work with us and we are on the verge of making a big announcement that will bring to the front the new level of cooperation between India and Seychelles. We look forward to the support of the Indian travel trade community in our efforts to promote Seychelles.”

Last year Seychelles launched its first ever Seychelles-India Day Celebrations – highlighting the fact that India is one of the five historical lines that make the Seychellois people what they are today.  
 

To mark this spectacular event, some 52 Bollywood Stars and other Indian National Dignitaries flew to the islands to participate in the celebrations which is now included in the Annual Seychelles Calendar of Cultural Events.  Recently Seychelles was named the Best International Destination for Relaxation at the Lonely Planet India Magazine’s Readers Travel Awards event.

In India Minister Alain St.Ange will be addressing the PATWA (Pacific Area Travel Writers Association) seminar on Tourism’s New Initiatives alongside Mr Shripad Naik, the Minister of State for Tourism & Culture of the Government of India, Mr Dilip Parulekar, the Minister of Tourism for Goa, Mr R.V. Deshpande, the Minister of Tourism for the Government of Karnataka, Mr Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the Minister of Tourism for Jammu & Kashmir, Mr Madan Prasad Bezbaruah, the Asia Representative for the UNWTO and Mr Sujit Banerjee, the Secretary General for WTTC. The Seychelles Minister will also be having bilateral discussions with several members of the Indian Government.
