Africa’s first and the most technologically advanced aircraft lands in Seychelles
aTP- Arab tourism portal News – Seychelles welcomed to its shores Africa’s first and most technologically advanced aircraft Airbus A350 XWB on Saturday afternoon. The Ethiopian Airlines Airbus A350 received a water canon welcome upon its arrival. Passengers were presented with flower garlands at the arrival lounge and given a taste of our traditional dance.
Present at the international airport were the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport Joel Morgan, chief executives of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken and that of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority Gilbert Faure, Ethiopian Airlines area manager based in Seychelles Meseret Tekalign, the crew members among other invitees.
Speaking at the event, Minister St.Ange expressed words of thanks to the Ethiopian Airlines team for getting the world to see that Africa has its own might in passenger care and aviation.
He called on the airline company to bring the aircraft more often to the shores of Seychelles so that the islands keep getting visitors from the source markets in the Americas and China.
"We appreciate your friendship and support, and we wish you continued success as you operate on the Seychelles route" Minister St.Ange said.
Minister Morgan said it is as a great experience to see Africa’s first and most technologically advanced aircraft Airbus A350 XWB land in Seychelles, adding that it can be described as a historical moment for the country.
He said it is a prestigious aircraft for Ethiopian Airlines and for Africa, and it is indeed a pride for both the company and the continent.
Minister Morgan added that this aircraft is a good product and Seychelles is honoured to have welcomed it to its shores.
"This says a lot for us as it shows that Ethiopian Airlines is looking at the future of Seychelles, at maintaining its frequencies and connectivity to our islands" said Minister Morgan.
Mrs Tekalign said it is always a pleasure when a new aircraft touches the land of paradise as it means that passengers of this sector will experience the extra effect of cutting-edge technology.
She added that the aircraft is also a testimony that shows Ethiopian Airlines is a pioneer of African aviation.
Mrs Tekalign said Ethiopian Airlines will keep working hard to develop this sector together with all its partners in Seychelles and across its networks.
“I reaffirm our commitment to offer, a global standard of product for the best value, to each and every traveller to and from Seychelles,” she added.
The ministers and other invitees had the chance to tour the aircraft and meet the members of the crew.
To mark the occasion, the ministers, chief executives and representatives of the airline cut a special cake and toasted to Ethiopian Airlines’ long term operations in Seychelles.
