SCTA President to participate in Green Arabia Conference 2014 at the Oxford in London

 

 

Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News -Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, on Wednesday, will take part in the Green Arabia Conference 2014, which is organized by the Oxford University in the United Kingdom in collaboration with Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities,to friday at St John’s College, University of Oxford.

The conference will be attended by a number of environmental scientists and antiquity experts of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, in addition to scientists from many of the countries around the world to discuss the interrelationships between human history and climate change in the Arabian Peninsula.
 

President of SCTA is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the opening session of the conference, which will focus on the deeply rooted Arab civilization since prehistoric times, in addition to the effects of climate change on the land of the Arabian Peninsula, which was in the past, brimming with lakes, rivers and civilizations.

President of SCTA, in his speech, will also shed light on the joint cooperation in research between SCTA and the University of Oxford in the "Green Arabia Project", which is carried out by the two parties and its implementation will take five years (2012-2017).
 

Prince speech will highlight SCTA’s attention towards the archeological excavations and survey, which has contributed to the discovery of a number of important artifacts that have provided significant evidence of the great historical depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the successive civilizations that have occurred during the ages in the Arabian Peninsula.
 

In his address,  President of SCTA will also talk about the Commission’s efforts in the rehabilitation and development of archaeological sites, the restoration of lost relics from inside and outside the Kingdom, the registration of Saudi heritage and archaeological sites in the World Heritage List of UNESCO, and the care of museums, and the like.
 

Noteworthy, Green Arabia Conference 2014 will feature four working sessions in addition to the opening session. These sessions will be addressed by a number of archeology and environmental scientists from Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, United States of America, France, South Africa, Morocco, Italy, Australia, Ireland, Sweden, and Germany.
