SCTA offers heritage museums in the "Provinces" pavilions in the Janadriyah Festival

Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Al Janadriyah Cultural and Heritage Festival aims to preserve Saudi heritage at different provinces, assembled in one place, and to introduce the history, culture and heritage of the Kingdom to both citizens and the expatriates.  

SCTA in collaboration with a number of provinces offers models of heritage museums to highlight a part of the history and heritage of the Kingdom inside the ‘Provinces’ pavilions in Al Janadriyah.

The Najran village festival pavilion includes Al Ukhdood Museum which narrates the story of Al Ukhdood people as it appeared in the holy Qur’an in addition to featuring a large number of photos, mockups and inscriptions from Al Ukhdood area. Also it offers brochures and pamphlets including information on these antiquities produced by SCTA and being distributed to the visitors.

Saeed Al Saeed (Abo Sanad), a tourist guide and in-charge of Al Ukhdood museum in Najran pavilion, said that he provides explanation to museum visitors in three languages, and he pointed out that, the museum includes a number of photos and information about Al Ukhdood people and Al Ukhdood’s famous wall in addition to a number of inscriptions, ornaments, ancient coins and a painting illustrating the Hema historical village, besides a number of significant antiquities from Al Ukhdood village and Emara Historic Palace and Al Aan Palace.

Asir pavilion in the festival also includes the Hejra-Al museum which is located next to Besha municipality, and it contains heritage items, old weapons and agricultural and household tools, costume, devices and handmade items.

Rashid Al Nour, in-charge of Hejra-Al museum, said that the museum includes a number of rare materials found in the history of the Kingdom including the old photos of a flagpole that was handed over by King Abdul Aziz to Balgorb tribe chiefs who participated in the unification of the Kingdom, in addition to a kind of stones growing inside some of the trees in Besha.
 

The museum consists of several sectors including Al Dewania (men sitting places), men and women costume, old and modern coins, collectibles, old weighing instruments, old weapons, agricultural tools, camel rising requirements and stuffed animals.
