EYA Ambassadors let the creativity sparks fly at the EYE & YO!Fest
The European Youth Award (EYA) joined the EYE & Yo!Fest at the European Parliament in Strasbourg from May 20–21, 2016. The 12 EYA Ambassadors represented EYA truly as one of Europe’s most creative and vibrant networks.
aTP- Arab tourism portal- 2016 marked the 7th edition of the YO!Fest, the political youth festival organized by the European Youth Forum. Held in the framework of the European Youth Event (EYE 2016) at the European Parliament, it brought together young people from all 28 EU member states and even beyond – under the motto “Together we can make a change”. Over 7000 young people gathered at the heart of European democracy to share their ideas and views regarding Europe’s future and its political development. They engaged in workshops, debates and many other activities with their peers and decision-makers.
As YO!Fest partner the EYA participated in this event with 12 EYA Ambassadors who represented Europe’s unique pan-European contest for digital entrepreneurs improving society. They let the creativity sparks fly at the “Entrepreneurial Campfire” and inspired more than 150 workshop participants with their unique success stories. For instance Mathias Haas shared his personal “Supersocial” story. He founded his own consulting agency after high school and rocks the world of social media since then. Now he gives outstanding workshops on social media marketing all over the globe.
In the “Stagnation and Innovation” hub – the appropriate home base of EYA during the event – EYA ran activities reflecting exactly its main objective: connecting people in a lively and fun way. During two speed-networking sessions called “Make a friend in one minute” EYA ambassadors and YO!Fest participants made valuable contacts and exchanged experiences.
At the end, all EYA Ambassadors agreed: “We had a fantastic time – we got to know so many great people and benefited from such outstanding workshops with high-level speakers! This event truly creat-ed a motivating European spirit and the feeling that together we can make a change!”
