—Dubai, Almasalla — The management and staff of Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, a premier destination for business and leisure travellers, recently donated an amount of AED50,000 to the Human Appeal International UAE in Ajman to help the famine-stricken people of Somalia.
The campaign was initiated by the management last month who appealed to the 205 staff of the hotel to contribute a minimum of one day salary to support the cause.
The move is to support the relief effort that is being carried out by several organizations in the UAE to help tens of thousands of people who are suffering from what is said to be East Africa’s worst drought for 60 years.
Mr. Iftikhar Hamdani, General Manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, said: “I am very pleased to announce that the management and staff of Ramada Ajman were able to raise funds amounting to Dhs50, 000 that we will send to our brothers and sisters in Somalia who are suffering from great famine. We hope that this contribution can support their needs and make a difference in their lives. I want to thank the team for their generous contributions and at the same time appeal to other organisations to extend their help because it will save a lot of lives!”
Mr. Abdallah Mohamed Abdrahman Al Awadi, Assistant Secretary General for Financial & Administrational Affairs of Human Appeal International (UAE) accepted the donation from the hotel management team and staff.
