The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Caravan to Tunisia that was presided over by the Asssitant to the Minister of Tourism Hesham Zazoua returned home following a four day visit to Tunisia.In statements upon return Zazoua pointed out that the objective of the caravan was knowing the proposals of Tunisian tourism officials at the aim of increasing tourism flow movement between Tunisia and Egypt.
He praised the proposal of the Tunisian Minister of Tourism El-Tigany Hadad of organizing an Egyptian week in Tunis that would include display of the Egyptian films and products in addition to presenting Egyptian meals.
The Assistant to the Minister confirmed the necessity of activating the executive programs signed between the two countries. He pointed out that a new executive program will be signed between the two countries following the end of the term of the presently executed program this year.
The new program will prevail from 2008 to 2011.
He said there are many aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia, including cooperation in the field of Tourism training. In this regard he asserted that Egypt has a good experience in this domain, due to the extreme attention given to maintain quality of service provided to the tourist. A number of training courses were executed for employees in various fields of tourism sector in collaboration with a number of specialized universities in the field.
He added that Egypt is seeking to make use of experience of Tunisia in increasing tourism through land crossings that reached to two million tourists in order to increase Egyptian tourism through land outlets.
Ambassador of Egypt to Tunisia Sahdia Farrag praised the good relations between Egypt and Tunisia. She highlighted that the tourism caravans and convoys sent by Egypt are playing a key role. She explained that the Tunisian tourism realized an constant increase until it reached a 14.7% increase in 2006 compared with 2005.
