4 companies compete on “Charter” aviation license in KSA

The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority intends opening skies for “Charter” flights before the end of this year 2007. The Authority recently requested the participation of citizens, businessmen and passengers with views and proposals concerning the project of Charter Flights and Air Cargo.

This move is regarded as the first step for popular participation in governmental decision-making concerned with privatization programs.

Chairman of the Civil Aviation Abdulla Raheimy said that the Civil Aviation Authority is expecting that number of requests for operation of “Charter” flights by the Saudi Private Sector would range between 8 to 10 companies.

He pointed out that around 4 Saudi companies already applied for business licenses to enter in the new project.
