Chairman of Egyptian Industries Federation Gala El-Zorba said that there is a strong trend from the Minister of Tourism Zuhair Garrana for canceling the organization of Tourism and Shopping Festival this year, to be resumed next year according to new rules, criteria and timing.
El-Zorba added that the trend for cancellation of this year festival is driven by increasing complaints from the participants of the timing that comes before the time of the annual summer sale, which affects the trade movement for the participants in the festival negatively and also reduces the gains that may be fulfilled during the summer season.
He pointed out that the formation of an integrated study committee around the festival as regards of all aspects, whether positive or negative in participation with Ministries of Commerce and Tourism in addition to the Federations of Commerce, Industrial and Tourism Chambers would illustrate the new concept of the festival that is to meet the needs and demands of merchants and producers with determination of the most suitable timing for its convocation.
He said that there is a prospected meeting with the Minister of Tourism Zuhair Garrana within few hours for coordination around the festival and preparing for it.
He affirmed that Federation of Chamber of Commerce has requested last year the alteration of timing of the Festival, which will be discussed in the meeting.
