Al-Najaf governorate signed a contract for building an integrated tourist city and a hotel at Al-Kofa with a Kuwaiti company with a total cost of $ 35 Billions. The deal was conducted during the visit of governorate delegation presided over by Deputy Governor Abdul Hussain Abttan and comprised a number of governorate council members.
A source at the governorate said that the visit comes within the civil administration plan at Al-Najaf for signing a set of contracts and memoranda of understanding with Kuwaiti investment companies at the aim of combining Al-Najaf and Kuwait with one investment field and contribution in introducing the Kuwaiti investment to the governorate for activating the private sector.
He added that the delegation held discussions concerning the establishment of a Strategic Investment Studies Center in Kuwait with the participation of Al-Najaf governorate in addition to the governorates of the Middle and South.
He indicated that agreement was reached with one of the specialized companies for building popular markets in all districts of Al-Najaf with suitable sums to ease the burden of the roaming salesmen and those of limited income.
