aTP- Arab tourism portal News- Combining the strength of an operator and the expertise of a specialized digital services company ensuring the successful design, development, implementation and operation of Smart Cities program, Orange Egypt announced its participation in “Batimat Egypt 2017”, the International Exhibition for Building & Construction Industry held at the Cairo International Conference Centre from 09 – 11 March.
The event was attended by Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Presidential advisor for mega projects and infrastructure, Eng. Tarek Kabil, Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing and Utilities, Dr. Ahmed Darwich, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Mr. Ayman Ismail, Chairman of the New Administrative Capital.
During the Ministers visit, Orange Egypt CEO, Jean-Marc Harion showcased Orange latest solutions and the smart cities interactive demos.
During the 3-day exhibition, Orange demonstrated a wide range of “Smart City” solutions and services tailored to provide integrated “Smart Living” in different verticals; smart utilities, smart parking solutions, environment monitoring, traffic and street lights management, and surveillance, in addition to extra solutions tailored to different business needs.
After acquiring the 4G services and fixed operator licenses, Orange Egypt has dedicated the Enterprises Business Unit to enrich the portfolio of services provided to big companies as well as SMEs. Furthermore, Orange, via its Orange Business Services division and Orange Labs, is permanently developing new mobile and fixed communication solutions to fulfil the new business needs of companies in Egypt and worldwide, such as machine-to-machine cloud, or security solutions.
The solutions and services that were demonstrated during the exhibition:
With the rapid growth of electricity networks, the need to reduce energy losses and improve networks performance increases as well. Orange Smart Utilities are the optimal solutions that mainly helps to reduce energy waste levels, provides more precise & efficient grid operations and better identification of faults. The service includes electricity, water and gas smart metering which send consumption readings digitally to utility providers to ensure more accurate bills and detailed analysis of consumption rates.
With the rising costs of energy, combined with increased environmental and regulatory pressures toward energy efficiency, Orange showcased its latest Street Lights Management Solution, which is a remote management system that will assist developers and governments in having real time information of street light grids which is destined to improve efficiency, reduce energy losses and offer better utilization of maintenance capabilities.
Orange also introduced the Smart Parking solutions that optimize parking space usage, improve parking operations efficiency and improve traffic flow. The new solution enhances the utilization of parking spaces remotely, providing accurate information & analytics of parking vacancies in real-time. Users in the future shall be able to replace manual cash payments for parking spaces with application payment from their mobile phones.
Orange is expanding its deployment of services ranging from construction machinery monitoring, to connecting cars, smart meter roll-outs through Internet of Things services that enable devices to exchange and collect data, thus minimizing human intervention, improving operations’ efficiency and generating new streams of revenue.
Orange offers these solutions in cooperation with partners & vendors specialized in these areas & verticals integrated with dedicated connectivity.
Cloud Computing can revolutionize IT departments by delivering IT resources securely over the network. Orange’s wide range of expertise in cloud services can help customers to meet their business needs by becoming more agile and competitive. This new solution provides the latest innovative service where customer can rent computing resources and capabilities of processing cores, memory and storage with a flexible pay for their usage.
Moreover, Orange introduced the Big Data & Analytics solution which is the process of examining large data sets to uncover market trends, customer preferences and other business information. The primary goal of big data analytics is to help companies make more informed business decisions by enabling data scientists, predictive modelers and other analytics professionals to analyze large volumes of transaction data, as well as other forms of data.
It’s worth mentioning that Orange has one of the most relevant reference lists in developing projects in the MENA and Asia regions, where it designs, integrates and runs large ICT international projects in many countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon and Jordan.
On the exhibition’s opening session, Orange Egypt CEO, Jean-Marc Harion delivered a speech and was part of a panel discussing the investment opportunities in the new administrative capital, “Egypt mega projects: Investment opportunities in the new administrative capital”
