aTP-  Arab tourism portal- During the festive season, many prefer to travel the world with their family to find the most tranquil place to spend their Christmas or to welcome the New Year, away from their busy lives and hustle and bustle of cities. Seychelles, has always been known a popular choice among travellers coming from near and far. Among them are always top dignitaries, celebrities and royalties. This was no exception in December 2015, as many chose these stunning islands of the Indian Ocean to spend quality time with their families and to enjoy the true meanings of peace and relaxation.

 


 
Seychelles was honoured to have welcomed His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho and his family during the festive season. His Majesty King Letsie III had chosen to greet the New Year in Seychelles, spending a week on the beautiful island of Praslin.

 


 
The Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange accompanied by the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune met King Letsie III on the eve of his departure at the Constance Lemuria Seychelles where the royal family was staying. Also present at the meeting was Constance Lemuria Seychelles’ general manager Bruno Le Gac.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 
The meeting was held at the beach bar and grill restaurant, which is known for its exquisite location as it provides the perfect setting to watch the sunset. His Majesty the King had the chance to enjoy the sun’s golden rays as they bid farewell to the day.

 


 
Minister St.Ange said it was an honour to have His Majesty in Seychelles and presented King Letsie III with two books on Seychelles. During discussions held, the minister invited the Kingdom of Lesotho to grace two of our cultural events in Seychelles  ̶  The Carnaval International de Victoria and FetAfrik  ̶  an initiative which King Letsie III saluted.

 


 
His Majesty King Letsie III is married to Her Majesty Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso and together they have three children  ̶   Princess Senate, Princess Maseeiso and Prince Lerotholi.
 

 


King Letsie III succeeded his father Moshoeshoe II when the latter was forced into exile in 1990 but was reinstated in 1995.

 


 
Following the tragic death of his father King Moshoeshoe II on January 15, 1996, King Letsie III was reinstalled as King on February 7, 1996. His coronation took place on October 31, 1997, in Maseru.
