“Today as Seychelles marks its Independence Day, islanders can reflect on where Seychelles has reached from its days as a British Colony” said Alain St.Ange, a former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine.
Politics in Seychelles saw a coalition Government between the two main opposing leaders who joined together for the Island to attain its Independence in 1976 with Albert Rene, the opposition leader becoming Prime Minister in the Coalition Government.
Today Seychelles with a population of some 100 thousand, is dependent on tourism as the pillar of its economy.
