ORANGE COUNTY VISITORS ASSOCIATION TO TARGET VISITORS FROM OMAN
Launch of “The OC & ME” campaign in Oman to provide Omani nationals and residents with thousands of dollars worth of added value
ATP- arab tourism portal-DUBAI —Orange County Visitors Association (OCVA) of California, the first regional tourism association from the U.S.A. to have a permanent presence in the Middle East, is visiting the Sultanate of Oman for the first time as part of a promotional campaign to welcome and attract visitors to Southern California’s capital of premier lifestyle and family attractions.
The four-day mission being conducted from March 14 – 17 includes a series of special meetings with leading Omani travel agents and the promotion of “The OC & ME” campaign, which offers a long list of special discounts and value added services for consumers purchasing the special holiday packages including; complimentary VIP Personal Shopper Experiences at the OC’s leading shopping malls and shopping destinations. Additionally, the OCVA Middle East team participated at the Al Khimji Travel Road Show, which was held on March 14, 2015 at the Crown Plaza, Muscat, where the team had the opportunity to inform the visiting public on Orange County’s attractions, including the world famous Disneyland, whale watching and cruising adventures, shopping and entertainment destinations, luxury accommodations and resorts, as well as its fresh and vibrant Southern California cuisine.
Says Ed Fuller, CEO of Orange County Visitors Association: “We are extremely excited to start our proactive series of promotions for Orange County in Oman. The OC offers great family entertainment for all. We are here to say a big ‘Welcome!’ to all Omani nationals and residents to come visit us and discover the fun and excitement that the OC has to offer, and we are doing that with an exclusive “OC&ME” package designed especially with the G.C.C. countries in mind.”
Orange County is ideally located in the centre of Southern California with less than 45 minutes to Los Angeles and an hour to San Diego. As such, in addition to having access to some of the world’s best beaches, shopping, and family entertainment attractions, from beach-fronted luxury resorts visitors can enjoy all the lifestyle pleasures that the OC has to offer as well as make day trips to urban attractions in San Diego and Los Angeles, without the traffic hassles that Los Angeles is renowned for.
Visitors to Orange County spent $9.6 billion in 2014, which is an increase of 10% over 2013. In 2014 Orange County drew 44.4 million domestic visitors, and almost four million international visitors resulting in a combined total increase of visitors of 1.4% compared to 2013 figures.
Say Fuller: “Since April last year we have established a permanent Middle East promotional office in Dubai, the first of any U.S. tourism association, and we are excited that just before the end of our first year of operation here in the region we are already proactively engaging with Omani travel agents. We have also recently launched social media platforms through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter just for this region with both English and Arabic posts, so we also hope many Omanis will join us online, and then make the journey to visit us in Southern California.”
