The Swazi Prime Minister, Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini and Minister St.Ange met when the Prime Minister was on a private visit to Seychelles over a year ago. This meeting in Swaziland helped reinforce the existing good relations that already exist between the two countries. The Seychelles Minister used the meeting to propose to the Swazi Prime Minister that his Government considers participating in the 5th Edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria that takes place annually in the Seychelles during the last weekend of April.
Minister St.Ange explained that the carnival in the Seychelles that has been called the Carnival of Carnivals by the International Press remains the only carnival that attracts all the best and most popular carnivals to parade together and followed by cultural troupes from the Community of Nations. "The carnival is an opportunity for tourism destinations to be seen and ensure that they remain relevant in the world of tourism but using their culture and their people to promote their country instead of colourful brochures. Your culture and your people are your best USP and the only one you have that has your very own DNA" the Seychelles Minister said.
Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini said that he would ensure the proposal made by the Seychelles minister would receive the attention of the Swazi Cabinet.
