Seychelles gave visitors a refreshing welcome for World Tourism Day
Seychelles treated its visitors to a special welcome to commemorate World Tourism Day on 27th September. Traditionally, the Seychelles Tourism Board’s team at the arrival lounge gave flower garlands to all guests at they set foot on Seychelles soil.
This year, the Seychelles Tourism Board team put a refreshing approach to its welcoming for World Tourism Day. Visitors landing on Emirates Airlines and Condor flights were given hand craft souvenirs made in Seychelles.
Wooden tortoises, Coco de mer and USB drive carved in the shape of Coco de Mer were distributed to all visitors. Sherin Naiken Chief Executive of Seychelles Tourism Board was at the arrival lounge to welcome visitors and support the first event kicking off celebrations for this year’s Tourism week.
Sherin Naiken said the event is to show tourism is bread and butter of Seychelles and that tourism remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy.
‘’ While the world is celebrating Tourism Day, our celebration takes another dimension, we are celebrating the pillar of our economy.’’ Sherin Naiken said.
