British Foreign Office warns of strike in Portugal
Almasalla Travel News – The Foreign Office is warning Britons visiting Portugal later this month that their trips might be disrupted.
A general strike has been called for June 27, which might hit public transport and services, said the Foreign Office, which advised people to check details with their travel companies before they leave.
Portugal’s moderate UGT labour union announced last week that it will.join the more leftist CGTP, the country’s largest union, in a general strike.
The move is against austerity measures imposed on the country by the Troika – European Commission, European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
