A workshop recommends of securing tourism as national issue

A workshop organized by the Security and Administrative Sciences Institute at Police Academy of Dubai in collaboration and coordination with Arab Organization for Administrative Development affiliated to the League of Arab States on (Factors influencing tourism in the Arab region and means of facing them) in Tunisia recommended the necessity of considering securing tourism with all its bodies and establishments as being a national affair.

The workshop asserted that securing tourism requires providing an integrated security system for the tourism utilities that would have a specific and clear strategic plan for security process through establishing a crises management structural entity under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, which should have affiliation of centers or chambers for crises and disasters management in the Arab countries.
Such bodies should include among specialties the building of preceding scenarios for dealing with emergency cases and situations and terrorism operations that target tourism in the Arab world.

The workshop recommended the establishment of a special chamber for managing the tourism crises on the level of each Arab country that cares in formation for representing all bodies concerned, in addition to necessity of using most up to date means and technology for performing its work.

This is instead of the traditional means that depend on the intensive security appearance, simplifying entry visas procedures with thinking of possibility of issuing unified visa for some Arab countries, in preparation for issuing a unified Arab visa for entering all these countries.

Moreover, there is a necessity for developing education curricula that would allow the addition of the (Tourism security) subject in the Police Academies, Colleges and Institutes, as well as the necessity of teaching a foreign language and consider it a basic subject to obtain the academic qualification. The allocations dedicated in the General Budget should be increased for the Tourism regions and formation of giant tourist entities in the Arab world for facing the contemporary world challenges, and treating the profits of hotels and tourist establishments with the same way of the exporting activity profits that enjoy reduced rates as it should be known as exporting industry.
