Seychelles new beauty queen and her princesses are on the move
ATP- Arab tourism portal- The newly crowned beauty queen of Seychelles Linne Freminot accompanied by her first and second princesses Petra Richard and Genevieve Rene, paid a courtesy call on President James Michel at State House this morning.
Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange and the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken were also present at State House.
President Michel echoed words of congratulations to this year’s Miss Seychelles…another world and her two princesses.
He described Miss Freminot’s project as a fantastic one, adding that the government need to see how to help these children as they are innocent.
I look forward to following your project and to see how we can support it, he added.
The head of state also spoke about the need to empower women.
He said women have contributed greatly in the development of Seychelles and the world.
President Michel told the girls that beauty is not just about the physical aspect but it is also about the inner self.
Minister St.Ange called on the girls to rally the past beauty queens and their princesses so that together they can find ways to empower women, and to come up with related projects. The idea was well received by President Michel.
Speaking to the local media after the meeting, Miss Freminot said it was an honour for her to meet the head of state, adding that she felt very proud.
She briefed the media about her plans to move her project forward.
Both princesses said they were happy and honoured to meet the President and are thankful for his words of advice and encouragement.
