ATP-  arab tourism portal-  U InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has brought its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo, to Southeast Asia with the opening of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road.

The 192-room Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road is refreshingly local in design, incorporating the best of its surrounding neighbourhood into the hotel. This includes vertical gardens to reflect Bangkok’s iconic Lumpini Park, which is just minutes away, street art style murals depicting the story of the surrounding area and custom art pieces such as a wall of wireless radios reflecting the area’s history as the birthplace of the country’s wireless radio stations.

Oliver Horn, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road said; “Wireless Road is in the heart of the city and our neighbours include award winning restaurants, art galleries, parks, shopping malls and cultural landmarks. This part of Bangkok has long been associated with Thailand’s love of radio and the King’s music. Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road gives our guests the chance to have an authentic experience of this thriving area and immerse themselves in this exciting neighbourhood, in addition to having a stylish base to relax and recharge before another day of exploring.”

Hotel Indigo is the first globally branded boutique hotel brand and no two of the 62 Hotel Indigo properties around the world are alike as each reflects its immediate neighbourhood through its design, food and beverage, amenities and services.

Alan Watts, Chief Operating Officer AMEA, IHG commented; “Demand for boutique hotels continues to grow rapidly amongst travellers with an interest in art, design and local exploration. They are looking for unique and individual hotel experiences combined with exceptional facilities, dining and great service. This is exactly what Hotel Indigo provides – all the style and flair of a boutique hotel with the reassurance and quality that a leading hotel group can offer.”

As well as meticulously designed guest rooms featuring spa inspired bathrooms, locally-sourced toiletries, private balconies and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, the hotel’s open air infinity edge pool and deck provides unparalleled views of the city.

This philosophy of bringing the local neighbourhood to life in the property extends to the restaurants and bars. Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road’s Food & Beverage neighbourhood café, Metro on Wireless, serves delectable Thai and Western cuisines, authentic recipes inspired by the local community. The hotel’s 22 Steps cocktail bar offers a sophisticated and relaxing space to enjoy innovative cocktails with Thai influences and inspired by Thai flavours, prepared by top mixologists.

Later in the year, the hotel will open its new signature dining venue, CHAR, which will be the city’s next culinary hot spot.

The hotel was designed by HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates – the world’s leading hospitality design firm. HBA’s goal was to design a hotel that is unique to its location by integrating the neighbourhood story into the design.
