UK airports braced for Border Agency strikes

Cairo "Almasalla News " – Border Agency staff are expected to strike next Wednesday as part of planned public sector industrial action, with BA offering travellers arriving into London airports the option to change their bookings.

Up to two million public sector workers are set to strike next week over pension reform plans, including staff at the UK Border Agency (UKBA).

The BBC is reporting that UKBA is planning to draft in civil servants “from across Whitehall” to replace striking staff members, but despite this BA’s website has been updated this lunchtime, stating that the industrial action “may create long delays at passport control”.

As a result the carrier is offering international passengers due to arrive into Heathrow, Gatwick or London City airports on Wednesday November 30, the option to change their booking free of charge, if seats are available on November 27-29, or December 1-7.
