Vice-President of Tourism Chambers Federation Wassim Moheiddin expected that project of developing Cairo Alexandria highway would increase the incoming tourist flow into Egypt whether domestic or foreign and Arab tourism to Alexandria city in addition to activating tourism movement of “One Day” as visitors of Alexandria would reach to 3 million annually whether local or foreign.
This number will increase following the completion of the project in addition of encouraging the tourists coming to Alexandria via sea boats coming from the European countries to have “one day” trips to Cairo and returning by buses, which would increase tourist nights and expenditure.
He indicated that Cairo Alexandria highway is regarded as the main vein that after development it on international level would limit recurrent accidents daily that are caused by trucks in particular.
Moheiddin added that rates of occupation currently in Alexandria hotels peaked to 100% of Egyptians, Foreigners and Arabs as the summer season is considered the tourist peak of the city.
