Home to the stunning Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel, this wonderful construction is made completely from snow and ice and houses hotel rooms, ice sculptures, a chapel and its own bar. It is rebuilt featuring a new theme each year.

This short-break to Alta includes one night in the Igloo Hotel providing perhaps one of the most unique overnight experiences you will ever have. Prices for the three-night trip are from £1,098pp and include flights, accommodation and breakfasts. Departures are from 16 January 2012 to 10 April 2012.

Kakslauttanen. From £1,041pp

Kakslauttanen is situated in the Saariselkä fell area of Finnish Lapland and offers first class traditional log cabin accommodation plus an igloo village with stylish glass and snow igloos. What better way of seeing the Northern Lights than from your own heated glass igloo? The resort also offers a wide range of winter activities.

Prices start from £1,041 per person based on four people travelling together including flights, transfers and four nights accommodation including dinner and breakfast. Child reductions are available. Departures are from now until 30 April 2012.

Luleå and the Treehotel. From £1,136pp

The Swedish city of Luleå is the perfect destination for winter activities. Taber Holidays now offers a four-day break to this lively and friendly city, combined with an overnight stay at the award-winning Treehotel in nearby Harads. Here you will find a group of unique rooms amongst the trees, each of modern design and created to be as green as possible.

Virtually the last spot of civilisation before entering the Arctic wilderness, Luleå offers guests the opportunity to try their hand at a number of exciting optional activities. These include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, driving on ice and skijoring behind a horse.

Kirkenes And The Snow Hotel. From £1,081pp.

Just a few miles from the Russian border, the Kirkenes Snow Hotel is set in a beautiful Arctic landscape of low birch woods in the Gabba Reindeer Park. Be prepared on arrival to feed the friendly reindeer before settling down for a hearty dinner in the Gabba Restaurant where everything is cooked over an open fire. Guests then retire to their snow room where they will lie on a good mattress in sleeping bags originally designed for Polar expeditions. Illuminated ice sculptures provide the lighting for the rooms and a hot sauna awaits guests the next morning.

This three night-trip includes one at spent at the Kirkenes Snow Hotel and costs from £1,081pp. Flights, transfers, accommodation (based on two sharing), and breakfasts are included, as well as a three-course dinner at the Snow Hotel.

Optional activities include a King Crab Safari, Northern Lights by Snowmobile, dog sledding and snowshoeing. Departures are from 2 January 2012 to 2 April 2012.
