SCTH President Attends WTTC Summit in Dallas, United States

 

 



aTP-  Arab tourism portal- At the invitation of the Chairman of World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTH attends the global summit of WTTC, which is being held under the theme “Travel Beyond Bordures” in Dallas, United States.


The summit was kicked off on Wednesday (April 6, 2016) in the presence of US President Barak Obama and attended by a large number of tourism ministers and officials from around the world, in addition to CEOs of large international companies engaged in the field of travel and tourism.


 Prince Sultan bin Salman is scheduled to deliver the speech of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the summit during the closed ministerial session, which will be moderated by the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization and Chief Executive Officer of WTTC. The session will focus on safety and security of travel and tourism and impact of terrorism and the anti-terrorism measures in this sector.



 
The WTTC is set to honor US President Obama in recognition OF his support of the tourism industry of America and the economy during his presidential periods and for considering it as one of the key sectors that can be relied upon to revitalize the economy in the United States. 



For the first time in the history of the United States, and during his tenure, the Government launched a “National Strategy for Travel and Tourism”, devoted to travel and competitiveness.



The summit will include a dialogue session in which a number of ministers and Company CEO’s will take part and focus on cooperation between the public and private sectors in the tourism industry. SCTH President during this session will highlight the experience of Saudi Arabia in transforming the tourism into a promising economic industry contributing to creation of jobs and investments, as well as diversifying the national production.  Besides he will be highlighting SCTH efforts in the support of tourism investment and its partnership with investors and the private sector.


The session will be addressed by tourism ministers and officials from several countries, including, Saudi Arabia, Bahamas, Egypt, Morocco, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Seychelles, Thailand, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the United States of America, in addition to a number of CEOs of hotel and tourism companies will speak during the session.
