The Seychelles Tourism Board Middle East office hosts last travel trade networking event for 2015

aTP-  Arab tourism portal- The Seychelles Tourism Board’s office in the Middle East together with Travel Daily Middle East hosted the travel trade networking event recently with over 70 attendees.

The event, now in its third year aims at being an avenue for trade sector to exchange ideas on how best to promote Seychelles.

Organisers of the event prepared exciting activity for the guests to enjoy and vouchers were handed out to the activity and raffle draw winners.

The United Arab Emirates remains as one of the top feeder markets of Seychelles and in order to uphold this, the activity for that night evolved on how Seychelles can continue to be promoted in the succeeding years.

Guests were requested to pick a colour upon registration and keep it until the programme officially starts. The attendees were asked to form a group of 10 members each based on the colour that they picked, once a group is formed they need to choose their team leader who will then represent the team.

The organisers gave two questions which the group needs to answer in the most creative way possible, the attendees were asked, “How will you further promote Seychelles among your clients and what is the best way for you to convince your clients to travel to Seychelles?” Each team was given 10 minutes to answer the question, after which the leaders were given the chance to explain their group’s answers.

Each team gave interesting and valuable answers that could further help the office promote Seychelles to the market and entice more people to visit the islands.

“Through the years we honour our travel trade partners’ contribution as we will not be where we are today without their immense support and with this Thirsty Thursday event, we show them our appreciation at the same time give them the chance to interact and network with different travel trade companies in the market. A fitting time also for them to relax, unwind and enjoy amidst the hectic schedule of travel trade life,” said Ahmed Fathallah, the regional manager of the Seychelles Tourism Board’s office in the Middle East.

“Though the competition in the market is tough, the event gave the travel trade partners the time to loosen up and forget competition even for a while. To meet new and old friends, touch base and most especially discuss on how as one team, we can stimulate more support to Seychelles.”

We have been doing this event for several years already and we are planning to expand its reach to other GCC countries as well with similar concept, added Mr Fathallah.

The Seychelles Tourism Boards Office on the Middle East will not cease in carrying out activities that can help gain support for the destination from the trade and media sector.
