Putting one’s culture at the centre of the tourism industry – Minister St.Ange congratulates Avani Seychelles



The call to put the Seychellois culture at the forefront in its tourism industry has been well responded to by several tourism establishments

AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa is one of the establishments promoting the local flavours and colours of our culture

Apart from the recent re-launched of its Bazaar Barbarons, the resort has also added the Kreol Cabaret on its programme of cultural activities for its guests

 

 

 

 


aTP-  Arab tourism portal News-The first cabaret was held last Friday evening and gracing the  event with their presence were the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Pillay, principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune, chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Francis, Miss Seychelles…another world 2016 Christine Barbier among other guests.


The Kreol Cabaret is set to be held every last Friday of each month, with Joseph Sinon and his Tanmi group adding a special touch to the night with their Creole songs and great entertainment.


 

 

 

 


Aside from giving guests a taste of the local music and entertainment, a variety of authentic Creole dishes were prepared for guests to enjoy the local flavours of the Seychelles’ cuisine.



Speaking at the event, Minister St.Ange said it is pleasing to see how the tourism trade sector has understood the call to put Seychelles culture at the forefront and to put it at the centre of our tourism industry.


 

 

 


He called on the destination management  companies in the country to support this new initiative by encouraging the visitors to our shores to enjoy the aspects of our culture being showcased during the cabaret.


The resort’s general manager Stephane Vilar said AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa will continue to promote the Seychellois culture and to incorporate it in the activities organized.
