ATP-  Arab tourism portal-The Seychelles delegation attending the World Travel Market in London have been hard at it in meeting aimed at keeping their mid-ocean islands visible in the competitive world of tourism. The homely Seychelles stand has been busy and the delegation feeling the effects of the renewed interest for the islands by the British Tour Operators and media.

 

Minister Alain St.Ange, the island s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture said that he has rarely had so many press and media interviews that Seychelles enjoyed at this World Travel Market. "We have had television interviews as we did radio interviews. We met editors of the main streak new papers are we did interviews for glossy magazines and even appeared in the WTM daily TTG publication on the second day of the Tourism Trade Fair" said Minister St.Ange.

 

"The tourism trade present at the World Travel Market are again partnering with the Seychelles Tourism Board to ensure Seychelles claims its fair share of the UK tourism market. If we are operating in Seychelles we must never be shy to be seen to be working together to increase the visibility of our islands, this is the only way we shall remain relevant as a tourism destination" said the Seychelles Minister.

 

The Seychelles Tourism Board remains the facilitators for the island s tourism industry and creating such platforms for everyone to work together for the continued success of the tourism industry of Seychelles. "The Tourism Board went as far as offering a table at no charge at all to the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association, the SHTA at the major tourism trade fairs where Seychelles is participating.

 

 

This offer was to have the smaller hotels and guest houses a chance for them to get seen and noticed. We did this after the Association s home grown members and the Association also expressed the need for such a support" said Minister St.Ange to a Travel Trade publication at WTM 2015.
