Saudi Ambassador to Britain: Prince Charles admired the efforts of national heritage protection in the Kingdom

 

 

Almasalla, ATP News- HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom pointed out recently that in the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Kingdom great strides have been made due to the genuine efforts of SCTA and its President HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz.



Prince made the remarks in a press statement after accompanying British Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Charles, during his trip to Madain Saleh and a number of historic sites in the Al Ula municipality all day on Wednesday and Thursday, (11-12 February).


“Seeing such concrete achievements on the ground makes one feel proud as well as confident of SCTA’s efforts in highlighting the cultural depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," he said, adding that the Kingdom is rich of deep-rooted diverse cultures, and understanding these deeply rooted cultures of the Kingdom, is a key to understanding the entire human civilization.


The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the United Kingdom, disclosed that Prince Charles expressed his admiration for the great heritage of the Kingdom he saw in Al Ula and Madain Saleh, as well as that the last site is a member of the World Heritage list of UNESCO, reflects the depth of the Kingdom’s inherent cultural dimension.


“Prince Charles was also impressed by the presentation techniques of the archaeological treasures in the museums he visited in Al Ula, as well as spoke highly of the archaeological explorations and excavation processes, which are carried out using advanced technologies and scientific approach," he revealed.



HRH Prince Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, in his statement attributed the achieved quantum leap in the excavation and preservation of the cultural heritage of the Kingdom to Allah first, then to the great support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and HRH Crown Prince (may Allah protect them).



Also to the persistent efforts of SCTA, which leaves no stone unturned in the restoration of the status of Saudi heritage, while taking care of the historical sites, national unification sites, successive civilizations sites, notably the Islamic history sites, he added.



Prince Charles during his tour in Al Ula municipality on last Wednesday and Thursday, he was escorted by HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, HRH Mohammad bin Nawaf, HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman and HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman.


During his visit, Prince Charles in the Al Ula municipality had toured the Al Khoraiba archaeological site, Madain Saleh and the Al Ula heritage district in Al Ula downtown.
