MH370 s underwater locator beacon battery expired in 2012

 

 

 

ATP-  arab tourism portal- Malaysian authorities issued a preliminary report on the investigation of MH370 disappearance. Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 s underwater locator beacon (ULB) battery had expired more than a year before the aircraft vanished on March 8, 2014, the Malaysian team investigating the flight’s disappearance revealed in its interim report.

 


Accodring to the report, the battery’s expiry date was December 2012, with no evidence suggesting it had been replaced. The report said that according to maintenance records, because of a computer data error, it went unnoticed by maintenance crews, informs Lenta.ru with the reference to Agence France-Presse.

 


Apart from that, the report states the flight proceeded normally. At the same time, it does not contain any information about the possible reasons behind the disappearance of the airliner.
